Cyprus Ministry of Defense: Ukrainian experts will be taught mine clearance

Ukrainian experts will be trained in demining in Cyprus, the first group will arrive at the end of April. Announced on the air Sigma TV Cyprus Defense Minister Michalis Yorgallas.

As Yorgallas explained, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov will arrive in Cyprus on Friday, April 7th.

“Cyprus does not participate in the military part of the EU’s support to Ukraine, that is, it does not send them weapons and spare parts. We agree with the humanitarian aid part,” he said.

According to him, Cyprus continues to accept refugees.

“As the Ministry of Defense, we participate in the trainings. We have a representative in Germany attending the trainings there,” added Jorgallas.

When Ukrainian experts arrive, they will also learn to mine mines.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to organize a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
