Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi said that the history of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the city is over.
“May will not come. Only warm Ukrainian grass (Ukrainian May – ed.), ”she wrote in Telegram, posting a photo of a calendar falling to the ground.
He said that the temple was demolished in the name of Prince Vladimir of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is located in the microdistrict of the city of Sykhiv today. The mayor said that one of the buildings of the monastery, located on Pekarskaya Street, was taken over by the First Medical Corps, with which they would develop a direction related to the rehabilitation of the army. Sadovyi stated that the monastery belonging to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (OCU) will continue to operate here.
Also, the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) located on Taras Bobanych Street, St. George’s Church will now be used by the OCU’s religious community.
Sadovyi also thanked those who attended these events and “completed the history of the Moscow Patriarchate” in the city in two days “without provocation, in a very valuable way”.
“There must be order in the house before Easter,” the mayor added.
It was learned that OCU supporters confiscated the Church of St. George the Victorious in Lviv during a mass the day before. 6th of April started destruction of the temple.
