Nearly 200 London police officers could be sacked for rape allegations

An operation has been launched in London to remove the police officers who are not suitable for working on corpses from their posts. It could lead to the layoffs of around 200 people, reports Sky News Daily.

Events are held among staff at Scotland Yard to ensure police standards are followed. One of the police commissioners acknowledged that the approximately 200 active members of the Metropolitan Police who have previously been accused of sexual crimes or domestic violence need a new test. A further 689 will be subject to re-examination on previous charges under other compositions. Over the past two years, London has been rocked by a wave of scandal after the agency’s activities were deemed racist, misogynistic and homophobic.

A database scan of all current employees revealed 161 people with criminal records, most of whom were shut down before they entered service. About half of those convicted were prosecuted for traffic violations, the rest for articles about violence, harm, damage or drugs. At the same time, the superintendent believes that a criminal record should not automatically prevent conscription, but that the bar should still be raised.

Scotland Yard management checked its 50,000 employees. After these events, 196 people could lose their jobs due to continued risk to them. Anyone who fails the retest will be subject to disciplinary action and can be fired within 12 weeks.

The London Police Department said it has opened a new anonymous hotline where the public can report corrupt or abusive behavior by officers. Line operators have received more than 1,000 calls so far, resulting in 325 inquiries.

Police officers are known to be rewarded for reporting inappropriate behavior by their colleagues.
