EU training mission commander Vice Admiral Herve Blezhan said more than 16,000 Ukrainian soldiers will be trained in April under a special EU programme. He announced this in a speech at a security forum at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. TASS.
Blezhan said he commands all EU military missions, including the new military support mission for Ukraine established on November 15 last year.
“Taking into account this month, we should already prepare more than 16,000 Ukrainian soldiers,” he said, noting that this was done in full coordination with EU partners.
The EU mission commander also talked about the need to reduce the supply of weapons to Ukraine, noting that Kiev’s allies should consider their interests, not just their own plans to replace their weapons.
Speaking about the possibility of ending the conflict, Blezhan emphasized that the EU should make sure that Russia does not win the war.
