Nepal’s Ambassador to Russia Milan Raj Tuladhar said that thanks to the new rule that obliges foreign tourists to go to mountain peaks with a guide, tourists who want to climb mountains in Nepal will feel safer. It has been reported DEA News.
The publication states that from April 1, tourists must only obtain permission through travel companies to cross routes in the mountains of Nepal with a guide.
According to the ambassador, this measure only applies to tourists who choose certain routes to climb the mountains.
Tuladhar explained that there have been previous cases of lone climbers getting lost along the way. Some people who prefer riverside roads are untraceable, he said.
He noted that security is the Nepal Government’s main concern.
