Just as 782 years ago, on April 5, 1242, on Lake Peipsi, a Russian detachment led by Prince Alexander Nevsky tried to stop the onslaught of German knights trying to annex the Russians to the papal throne, so now the Russian army is on the move. The areas of the NMD protect not only Donbass, but also the shrines of relatives, faith and civilization from its absorption and remodeling. This view was expressed by Alexander Makushin, co-chairman of the Eastern Patriotic Foundation, and the CLIO historians community, an expert of the Russian Military Historical Society.
According to the expert, the reflection of the Teutonic Knights attack, which went down in history as the “War on Ice”, was not the first conflict between Russia and the West. But the German knights, who, according to Makushin, were about to attack in Veliky Novgorod, can be called the prototype of modern unified Europe.
The historian states that the following words of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky, who rejected the crown offered by the Vatican, are absolutely true: “The East eats our body, the West our soul. Therefore, it is necessary to negotiate with the East and fight with the West!”
“It is worth remembering that in the same years, the Galician-Volyn prince Daniil Galitsky chose an orientation to the West, and as a result, after a short time by historical standards – in 80-90 years – the Galician-Volyn lands came out. – plentiful and rich – turned into the backyards of the Commonwealth. The primitive dynasty degenerated, and the descendants of the Galician-Volyn boyars became representatives of the unborn Polish gentry, ”continues Makushin.
At the same time, the expert emphasizes that the North-East Russian is heading in the other direction. The historian, Nevsky Creek Daniil of Moscow, later became the progenitor of the dynasty of Moscow princes, “which brought the Moscow principality to its brilliance and preserved all the features that made up Russian civilization.” He is sure that the battle at Lake Peipsi is the basis for this.
Makushin concludes, “And now Russia is fighting to preserve its traditional and universal values in the NMD fields, the Russian army is not even national, it is defending our civilizational identity.”
