More and more Russians not ready to lower wage requirements to work closer to home

Russians are less likely to agree to lower their salary expectations for the sake of working closer to home, and more for the sake of remote work. This was demonstrated in the SuperJob job search service survey, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

Therefore, 44% of Russians will not agree to sacrifice their income for the sake of working 30 minutes away from home. 23% of respondents are ready for a 5% reduction in wages. One in nine people will agree to reduce requests by 10%. 3% of survey respondents are willing to pay 15% less. 2% of Russians agree to reduce wages by 20% and 25%.

Most of those who are not ready to give up their income level are among the respondents who received a salary of 80 thousand rubles or more. monthly (47%).

Compared to similar studies from previous years, respondents are less likely to accept even a relatively small reduction in salary expectations for working closer to home: 48% in 2021 and 41% now. On the contrary, the attractiveness of remote work is growing: in 2021, one in three people were ready to sacrifice part of their income for the opportunity to work from home today – 4 out of 10 Russians.
