Yuriy Bardash, one of the most famous music producers in Ukraine, in an interview with Telegram channel “Mash in Donbass” He talked about why he supported Russia and what he did after moving to Moscow.
“After February 24, everyone asked themselves the question: ‘What should I do now? So I thought, okay, what am I going to do? To help as much as possible. Donbass region – the last eight years have been a disaster. I’m talking about society, the simple pleasures of life that this region has long missed. And nothing seems to be alive. But no! People live there, they also sing, think, dream, give birth to meanings, ”said the producer.
Now Bardash is involved in the Sound of My Zone project, which supports young artists in the region. “Lots of demos are out, listen up and it’s not bullshit, it’s all about this, it’s all about life. In the songs, I see what people in the depressive zone of eight years are saying. The state is obliged to help both in terms of quality and level,” he said.
According to him, now for Russian culture it is not the main issue what color the artist’s sneakers are or what timbre. “Meanings are fighting with aesthetics, I hope they become friends and after a while we will reach this level where meaning and aesthetics will shake our people. So far the meanings have been flooding in: Propagandists, radicals, everyone in the world are constructing these meanings. The duty of the people of art is not to climb to the peak of patriotism, but to stay in trouble. The gold medalists in physics will be the winners and the artists will sing about them,” Bardash stressed.
He also noted that Russian patriotic artists playing for Russia currently do not have any support and support.
“There is no fashionable cultural media power that can represent them. Maybe there is, of course, but that’s how I see it because I’m new here. But I will say this: some time will pass, all this will change, and patriotism will become mainstream, ”said the producer.
Recall that Yuriy Bardash is from the Luhansk region. He supported Russia last year and was threatened with retaliation for his unpopular position. On July 22, the producer left for Russia via Georgia and Abkhazia. Now he lives in Moscow and works on patriotic music.
