German defense organization Rheinmetall is opening a center in Romania for the logistics and maintenance of weapons used in Ukraine, the agency reported. Reutersreferring to the representative of this German manufacturer.

The center will be close to the border with Ukraine, the Romanian city of Satu Mare. It will serve howitzers, Leopard and Challenger tanks, Marder infantry fighting vehicles, Fuchs armored personnel carriers and military trucks.

Rheinmetall said the center will be operational this month.

“It will play a central role in keeping the Western war systems used in Ukraine on alert and ensuring logistical availability,” a spokesperson for the manufacturer said.
