Authorities of the Persian Gulf monarchies urged citizens not to travel to countries where the Marburg virus went – Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania, reports DEA News Referring to the official statements of the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

“The kingdom has not yet reported cases of Marburg virus, but health facilities are ready to treat patients with this virus,” said Abdullah al-Asiri, Deputy Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also urged citizens to refuse any travel to these countries due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation.

Formerly Rospotrebnadzor reinforced Health and quarantine control in connection with the outbreak of Marburg virus in Equatorial Guinea.

Rospotrebnadzor ordered to strengthen health and quarantine control using the Environmental automatic information system installed at all checkpoints on the Russian state border.
