A nine-year-old Californian girl and her family are suing the state fair after her pet goat Cedar was put up for auction and possibly barbecued. The English edition writes about it Metro.
According to the portal, the girl’s mother, Jessica Long, bought her daughter a seven-month-old goat in April 2022. In June, the mother auctioned off the goat to sell it for meat, but the family changed their mind when the girl became attached to the goat at the last moment.
It was stated that the fair officials refused the family’s request and the Cedar was sold for $ 902. Then Long’s daughter’s mother decided to steal the animal. It was successful, but the fair representatives wanted to return the goat, threatening criminal prosecution.
The police then confiscated the goat. Nothing is known about Cedar’s fate. The girl’s family is demanding compensation.
