Putin dismisses Russian ambassadors in Latvia and Estonia
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this Friday that the Russian ambassadors to Latvia and Estonia, Mikhail Vanin and Vladimir Lipaev, have been dismissed according to separate decrees that do not specify the reasons for this decision.
Brief decrees posted on the official page of Russia’s legal information portal order the “removal of Vladimir Lipaev from the post of Russian embassy to Estonia” and “the removal of Mikhail Vanin from the post of Russian embassy in Latvia”.
Lipaev left Estonia in early February after Russia dropped bilateral relations with Tallinn in response to the expulsion of diplomats in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Latvia also stated that it has lowered the level of diplomatic relations with Moscow.
