about The ninth soundtrack he’s worked on since 2000when cooperating with Nacho Mastretta For “Asphalt”. More recently, in 2022, they have already worked together. Daniel Calparsoro (Director of ‘Hasta el cielo’ TV series and movie) “Operation Black Wave”.

YOTELE chatted with the producer about this new project, which is the main theme. “Kryptonite”where he combined his talent with that of Puerto Rican West Indian Villain. Also worked with the rapper Beachdescribed as “an incredible man” and goyo“a great Colombian singer”. Baby, Mala Rodriguez And Miguel Campello They are also on the EP.

You just presented the EP, which includes 5 songs from the soundtrack of the Netflix series ‘Hasta el cielo’. How was this project designed?

The series is the result of the movie of the same name ‘Hasta el cielo’ and the project was created during the pandemic. I’ve been making soundtracks for many years, and although I’m not immersed in it, I think it didn’t go badly because I was not recognized as a soundtrack musician and got the occasional Goya nomination. Just when the pandemic hit, I was lucky that Daniel asked me to do the movie ‘Hasta el cielo’ and there I saw a great way to continue the soundtrack and then undertake a super looking milestone in my career. I. important

In conclusion, I think all musicians, or all of us who have a job, want to grow over time, and for me, without a doubt, the most inspiring thing for a musician is to make soundtracks. And I think I’ve been lucky for the last two or three years, it’s going pretty well and above all I feel very comfortable and very lucky to have created new projects.

The truth is I’m very happy because I’ve been doing quite a few movies with Daniel, we understand each other very well and he’s comfortable. I really want to continue and we are currently shooting, for example, a new film by Luis Tosar called ‘Todos los nombres de Dios’. A great movie with a great script.

‘Kriptonita’ is the main theme of the series where you join Puerto Rican artist Villano Antillano, one of the pioneers of the trans community in the Spanish urban music world. How is this song and what did you want to tell? What is it like to work with Villano Antillano?

The truth is, this song is the result of a foundation that I had that was the center of attention at one point. For me, entering the more Latin and urban world had to be in other kinds of dress, in this case a dance music dress, a piece of music that I eventually played and produced a lot. , and there was a scene where I thought it came to hair. I started talking to Villano Antillano to see how we could meet up and catch up with her, she was really great because we met Bebe one night here in Madrid, we went to the studio, she seemed so good to me about how she looked. his work, how he wrote it, and how, all of a sudden, he always adapted what he had when listening or listening to the base loop.

And the truth is, it was a very funny song that I really liked. Because he always does the songs and also does it so well, with his talent and the way he raps, which is great.

What memories do you keep of your time at ‘El hormiguero’? Did your collaboration end because it was planned?

This is an incredible memory. I think it’s been 3 wonderful years when I went to see Jorge Salvador and Pablo so they could host me, and suddenly became collaborators again in the purest anthill style. We managed to do a very crowded section: a creation section, a section where we constantly sing songs and that way I can show people the project. Everything has been gutted and taught, from how to record a violin to how to make music with a skateboard, in the end a lot of things that keep you on your toes.

The truth is, it gave me a level of popularity that sometimes overwhelms me, but hey, it was finally part of my job. I was doing what I loved back then. Then as time goes on I think that creating a different episode almost every week or every month, their changes and ideas fell apart and finally what I love is dedicating myself to music.

Then we stopped working for a moment because I think what we accomplished was so intense that it was too complicated to continue at this level. I’m so grateful for giving me that window to show what good music is for me, I guess that’s for them too, I guess they loved it because we have a ruthless audience. The truth is, it was a pretty cool experience.

I’m a musician, I like music and I’m not that much of a television character, so I like television and I like to be able to tell things, but I’m not that much of a television person. I’m more of a musician and I love making music and I love DJing and I love playing and I love producing and I love doing what I’m currently making music for.

Would you collaborate again on the show or another production company 7 and action?

Yes, of course. I have a very good relationship with Pablo, my friend Jorge Ventosa and we go out from time to time and then with the whole team, with Juan and Damián, with Marron… There is so much love in all people. in the team, of course, I would return. It was a very good time.

How was your experience working with ‘Idol Kids’ and Isabel Pantoja? Would you work with him and Edurne again?

Also very good. The truth is, when Isabel Pantoja was working with Edurne and Jesús, the truth is they were great when it came to helping out, when it came to developing that jury character, being there with the singing juniors and getting them into the game. music world. It was very funny, when they didn’t call me when the 2nd season was about to come, I had already started the cinema. The production company is very good and best of all it’s a place where you make friends like Edurne, it’s great, she’s a very valuable person who helps you with Jesus and makes everything easy. And the incredible Pantoja.

A few months ago, you sparked a discussion on the networks saying that if it weren’t for Rosalía, she would have been the most important artist this country has produced. Are you talking about new generation artists or all of recent history? Do you think Rosalía would be more important than figures like Rocío Jurado at that time?

The reason I’m making this comment is because I really think he’s an artist with incredible communication qualities outside of music, I think he has great ideas, he has a great connection with his audience, and above all, he has something very important, which is to criss-cross what hasn’t been done in other situations at a global level. knowing how to do it.

That’s why this word came to me, because it’s so complicated to define the important, but I think he’ll be one of the most powerful artists this country has ever produced, and I’m thinking if not already. I am referring to the facts, there are international magazines that are absolutely neutral and have nothing to do with this discussion, they include Rosalía’s records, for example the Rolling Stones magazine lists Rosalía as one of the only albums that is more conceptual. music history, I think Rosalía’s album is a phenomenon.

It’s become a phenomenon and it’s not just based on whether to buy commercial songs, so when you listen to a Rosalía album, there’s a lot of things behind it, a lot of searching, and I don’t do it either. I love sorting, but no doubt it goes a long way and is just getting started. I think it’s the opposite of a “One Hit Wonder”, not a person who has reached the whole world with national success, but someone who has a great album called “El mal querer”. ” and yet another incredible album, “Motomami,” and he did great things. What is clear is that I love it very much, and when I love something, I stand up for it.

I also wanted to say that there are some very important artists on the LP and it’s an honor to collaborate with Costa who is an amazing guy, “Goyo, a great Colombian singer, the song we did on La Patrona. del Juego” and also the album “Part by part” with Bebe now. And Villano Antillano of course said, “I would like to be good with La Mala and El Bicho. And finally with Miguel Campello, who is a crackpot.
