Russian President Vladimir Putin made changes to the state program for the resettlement of citizens. The corresponding decree signed by the head of state is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the document, applications for participation in the state program of citizens outside the Russian Federation will be accepted on the condition that they know Russian at a level to be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a language environment. This rule will also apply to a number of foreign citizens from among those who wish to apply for participation in the state program on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Knowledge of the Russian language can be documented (for example, a set of educational documents) or through an interview. In the latter case, it should be the decision of the commission formed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Citizens outside of Russia will be able to interview online.
The decree also states that citizens of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Moldova do not need to submit an educational document or undergo an interview to verify their knowledge of the Russian language.
