Chamber of Commerce chairman Carlos Baño and Mutxamel mayor Sebastián Cañadas signed an agreement today to allow use by Chamber trustees of a workshop building intended to house Solidarity’s new facilities. The event was also attended by Mutxamel Councilor for Promotion and Development, Cámara Solidaria-AGS Gema Amor coordinator Antonio Sola, association treasurer Fidel Bernabéu and president Jesús Navarro Alberola.
The kitchens of Cámara Solidaria-AGS, currently located in Ciudad de la Luz, will be located in these new facilities to continue developing the social work of this non-profit association focused on the preparation of solidarity menus. Educational actions for the social and labor participation of people at risk of social exclusion, especially youth, as well as the collectively disadvantaged and homeless people in the province of Alicante.
The transfer of this workshop building located in Polígono Riodel will be valid until September 2036 and can be extended by express agreement of the parties and is conditional on the development of the activity for which it is authorized.
Since its founding in April 2020, Alicante Gastronómica Solidaria has prepared, packaged and distributed over 610,000 solidarity menus and facilitated through training actions framed in PICE courses managing the job placement of more than 700 young people at risk of social exclusion. This work was made possible by the collaboration of nearly 2,000 volunteers and the support of 700 companies that contributed their product and material resources. A new phase begins with the transfer of AGS to Muchamiel in a warehouse that was built from the ground up with the financial and technical support of the Carmencita team and where our managing director Jesús Navarro Alberola took over from Carlos Baño Marhuenda. He continues the path of the Organization with Gema Amor Pérez, President and Vice President of AGS.
