The suspect, who was killed by the Police after killing two women in the Ismaili Center, was taken to the hospital. Neves confirmed that he had already been questioned, and although he did not want to go into details, he expressed his regret.
Prime Minister António Costa also said on Tuesday, shortly after the incident, that it appeared to be an “isolated incident”, a term also coined by president Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in his initial response.
