The commander of the Ukrainian ground forces, Alexander Syrsky, visited the army positions near Bakhmut (Artemovsk – Russian name) to examine the situation. This was reported by the Ukrainian resource Military Media Center.
Syrsky previously stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may soon launch an offensive in the Bakhmut region.
According to media reports, the commander also assessed the situation and took a number of measures to solve the problematic problems that “obstructed the effective performance of combat missions.” In addition, Syrsky took a number of operational decisions aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to control and defeat Russian troops.
The commander said that Bakhmut’s defense was due to military necessity. According to him, the most intense phase of the struggle for the city is currently underway, the military consistently evaluated the situation as difficult.
