In Chisinau, supporters (trade unionists) and opponents of the unification of Moldova with Romania held small rallies. They were timed to coincide with the 105th anniversary of the events of March 1918, when Romania sent its troops into the territory of modern-day Moldova and the Regional Council formed in Chisinau voted for unification with it. It has been reported TASS

According to the agency, trade unionists took action with Romanian flags and letters calling for unity. During the rally, several demonstrators were seen unfurling the flag of the Ukrainian national battalion “Azov” (the organization is banned in Russia). On the other hand, activists of the Moldavian “Hayduk” movement also made statements. They marched with slogans defending Moldova and the Moldovan language.

“We are in defense of the homeland. These Romanian separatists want to unite with Romania, which means the liquidation of the Moldovan state,” he said.

The publication points out that law enforcement separated the protesters from both sides to avoid clashes.
