The other day, the Russian armed forces managed to defeat the Ukrainian military units in the Krasnolimansky direction. This was expressed by Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
As noted, losses on behalf of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 90 soldiers.
“In the Krasnolimansky direction, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit by assault and army aviation, heavy flamethrower systems and artillery fire from the “Central” forces group,” Konashenkov said.
The representative of the Ministry of National Defense added that in the special operation organized in this direction, 4 armored vehicles and 2 D-30 howitzers belonging to the Ukrainian side were liquidated.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to organize a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
