According to ancient Egyptian belief, it is believed that the world was created in this city with the first sunrise. This city was a symbol of the connection between the power of the pharaohs and the sun god.
One of the sphinx-shaped statues is Pharaoh II, a successful conqueror who expanded the borders of Egypt, for which he was nicknamed “The Conqueror”. It depicts Ramses.
Serving the gods was one of the main duties of ancient Egyptian kings, as archaeologists have noted, and the dedication of statues is part of that.
