37% of Russians are ready to pay for their child’s education at a university, and 45% of parents trust their child to choose an educational direction. This was demonstrated by the Skillbox survey with the VK research team, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
Therefore, 39% of the respondents admitted that they want their children to receive a higher education. At the same time, only 8% believe that it is impossible to find a job without higher education.
As for anxiety on the eve of admission, it is mainly associated with the Unified State Examination – 29% of respondents spoke about it. Another 24% are concerned about choosing a direction for education, and 13% are concerned about adaptability and academic performance.
More than half (55%) of parents help their children choose their educational direction, and 45% completely trust their child. Only 1% of those surveyed made decisions for their children.
When choosing a direction, 44% of respondents took into account the interests of their children. 22% of parents approached the issue more pragmatically – they studied the market and the demand for professions and made a choice based on this. 17% try to provide a versatile education. 14% are driven by USE points alone – whether they allow you to transfer the budget, while 11% of parents surveyed, on the contrary, look at the cost of education and choose a direction starting from affordability.
While 64% of respondents consider training on a budget basis only, 26% are willing to pay for semesters. At the same time, the option to study on a paid basis in most cases (37%) is falling because there are no government-funded places at the university in the chosen direction. 30% of respondents reject the budget because of the results of the Unified State Exam, while 13% believe that paid education will treat the child more carefully.
