Indonesian doctors described a case of rupture of an aneurysm in the brain during sexual intercourse in a 42-year-old man. It has been reported daily mail.
The patient was treated by doctors as Dr. He was treated at Soetomo General Hospital. The man passed out during sex, then vomited and developed weakness on the right side of his body. On the way to the hospital, he suffered a series of contractions throughout his body.
Doctors said he had never had a headache before and had not had a head injury. They discovered that he had a ruptured aneurysm (protrusion of a blood vessel wall) in his brain. This led to subarachnoid hemorrhage, which occurs in half of aneurysm survivors, which can damage the brain and cause death or long-term neurological damage.
Doctors suspect that the rupture of the aneurysm may be caused by physical exertion during sex. When he was hospitalized, the man had dangerously high blood pressure – 183/105 mmHg. At her age, blood pressure in the range of 90/60 to 120/80 mm Hg is considered ideal.
The patient was able to regain the ability to use the right side of his body. However, permanent damage remained to the oculomotor nerve in his left eye, which controls eye muscle movement, pupil constriction, and helps focus.
