MiG-31BM high-altitude fighter-interceptor aircraft from a separate mixed aviation regiment of troops and forces in northeastern Russia conducted training flights over the Pacific Ocean. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It was noted that during the flights, the pilots performed the duties of patrolling and guarding the air borders in the east of the country, as well as independently monitoring the airspace without the use of ground-based radar reconnaissance equipment.

“As part of the flight mission, MiG-31BM pilots honed their instrument piloting skills in the absence of visible landmarks,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Two MiG-31BM aircraft and engineering and technical personnel, ground-based radar systems and air defense systems combat teams, and approximately 30 military personnel from control and flight support groups participated in the training.

Previously reportedThe departure of the MiG-31 from the airfield in Belarus caused an airstrike in eastern Ukraine.

In the Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, as well as in the part of the Zaporozhye region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, the siren sounded.
