US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Turkey should buy modernized American F-16 warplanes. He announced this at a meeting in the US Congress, reports TASS.

“We believe this is important for NATO and the entire alliance,” he said.

John Kirby, formerly White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator declarationWashington’s stance on the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine has not changed.

According to him, the United States does not discuss the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine, although it supplies weapons from Slovakia.

Prior to that, Kirby said that Poland’s decision to hand over MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine did not change US plans for the possibility of supplying F-16s. Thus, he interpreted the decision of the Polish side to transfer the MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.

On March 15, Polish government spokesman Piotr Müller said that Ukraine will receive MiG-29 fighters from several countries.
