Almost half of Russians have at least once in their lives found themselves in a situation where their neighbors’ repairs have damaged property. This is evidenced by the results of a study by AlfaStrakhovanie, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
Thus, in 60% of cases, the amount of damage is from 10 to 50 thousand rubles. About 20% of the respondents “worked” up to 100 thousand At the same time, almost the same number of respondents had to pay compensation from 100 thousand to over a million.
In a third of cases, the neighbor completely ignored the explanations during the repair, in 20% of cases it caused a scandal, and in only 14% it either compensated for the damage or hired a master to fix the deficiencies.
In almost 50% of the cases, the respondents stated that they were able to negotiate peacefully with their neighbors. However, not everyone had a positive experience: more than a third of those surveyed said they had to eliminate the consequences of their neighbors’ wrongdoing at their own expense, 12.3% went to court. Since the apartment is insured, in only 6% of cases all problems are resolved by the insurance company.
Neighbors making a lot of noise (42%), polluting the entrances (31%), breaking elevators while loading construction materials (22.9%), and throwing construction waste in the wrong place (12) were stated as the most important repair problems by the interviewees. %) will damage doors and walls (23%) on the floor. Also, unprofessional repairmen lead to damage to wiring and general home communications (11%) and even home fire (3.5%). 4.8% of the respondents complained of cracks in the walls of the apartment during the repairs of the neighbors, and flooding occurred in 7.5% of the cases.
Most survey respondents believe that it is impossible to protect yourself from the consequences of unprofessional repairs. This was the answer of 53.4% of the respondents.
