France is training military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) on Mirage 2000 fighter jets, writes figaro.
The publication reports on 30 Ukrainian soldiers who have been training on French planes for a month and a half at the Landes airbase in the Meurthe and Moselle department, and Mont-de-Marsan in the Nancy department.
It was noted that the decision to train the Ukrainian army was made before the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to France on February 8.
The authors of the article note that if Paris had sent 10 French-made military aircraft to Ukraine, this would most likely not lead to a “strategic turn” in Ukraine. The same is true for MiG aircraft from Eastern Europe.
Previously in the Spanish Confidential newspaper declaration A material was published saying that many allies of Ukraine feared the expansion of Kiev’s military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation after receiving warplanes.
It was noted that there were fears that the conflict would escalate, with NATO at risk of becoming more directly involved in the conflict. Confidential writes that other countries may follow the example of Poland, which announced that MiG-29 warplanes were sent to Ukraine.
