This is one of the main results of the emergency meeting organized by Elvira Ródenas Sancho, Director General for Occupational Health and Occupational Safety, and representatives of the Valencian Occupational Safety and Health Institute (Invassat), Valencia Business Confederation. At the meeting, the usefulness of the actions taken by Invassat and ITSS was demonstrated by all the organizations present and, after different interventions and recommendations, the meeting ended with the development of an action plan against serious accidents and fatalities in the Community of Valencia. , Which it will close next week and its implementation will take place immediately.
State funds for these actions allocated to the prevention of occupational risks, managed by the State Foundation for the Prevention of Occupational Risks, formerly corresponding to the Community of Valencia; just over one million euros and will be governed by autonomous communities from this year.
Elvira Ródenas noted that the official statistics on serious and fatal work-hours accidents in the Community of Valencia in 2022 paint a scenario where “the results of 2021 are far from improving, they are worsening”.
Therefore, with regard to accidents of a serious nature during working hours, In 2022, 367 cases occurred in the CommunityCompared to 2021, there was an increase in 53 cases, that is, 16.9% more occupational accidents in these characteristics.

Traumatic accidents account for 46.8% of these fatal occupational accidents, non-traumatic accidents for 36.4% and traffic accidents for the remaining 16.9%.
