Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal has instructed the Ministry of State Customs Service and Infrastructure to approve a series of measures related to the construction of new border checkpoints in the west of the country. This was reported on the politician’s Telegram channel.

According to the Ukrainian prime minister, a strategy should be developed for the development of new checkpoints.

“We discussed next steps to improve logistics during our meeting with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the state restoration agency and the state customs service,” Shmyhal said.

There are also plans to modernize existing checkpoints.

As Shmyhal explains, the development of border infrastructure will help Ukraine’s later integration into the European Union.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to organize a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
