The Russian Military Historical Society will erect a monument to Vladimir Churov’s grave. This was told to socialbites.ca by the head of the organization, deputy of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky. He recalled that the former head of the MSK had chaired the scientific council of the RVIO for more than 7 years.
“It is a pity that we misunderstand him, that we underestimate him. And even after death, but certainly we will pay tribute to Vladimir Evgenievich. The Russian military-historical society is already participating in the organization of farewell to him. Let’s make a monument worthy of his grave. We’ve already announced a creative contest. We will make sure that Vladimir Evgenievich is remembered as an interesting, wise, deep and supremely knowledgeable person,” Medinsky said.
Vladimir Churov died on March 22 in a capital clinic at the age of 71. About a week ago, the former official had surgery after suffering a severe heart attack. He chaired the Central Election Commission for nearly 10 years, from 2007 to 2016.
