Director of Yekaterinburg Historical Museum cancels sentence for discrediting the Russian army

Igor Pushkarev, director of the Yekaterinburg Historical Museum, was fined by the decision of the Sverdlovsk District Court for discrediting the Russian army. TASS with regard to the court’s press service.

“The judge has decided to annul the decision of the judge of the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg to stay the trial because of the triviality of the act committed,” the message reads.

On December 19, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a businessman and founder of PMC Wagner, addressed the Mayor of Yekaterinburg, Alexei Orlov, in an open letter. He demanded that Pushkarev check the validity of his appointment as museum director and fire him. According to Prigozhin, while working as a journalist on the online publication Znak.com and on social networks, Pushkarev criticized Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.

Pushkarev claimed for a long time that he did not have access to social networks and left his page.
