The number of Russians who are not afraid to refuse the job after a successful interview has increased. The most common reasons are low salary, inconsistency of job description with actual job, and unsuitable schedule. This was demonstrated in the SuperJob job search service survey, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

Thus, 55% of Russians had to refuse to work after successfully passing all the tests. This is the highest figure in 8 years: during the year, the number of people who had experience rejecting an offer increased by 11 percent and almost doubled compared to 2020. Also, women say “no” more often than men after an interview (53% versus 57%).

The most common reasons were low fees (cited by 23% of respondents), inconsistency between promises and reality (19%), and unsuitable conditions (18%). One in nine (11%) admitted that they had gotten a better offer, one in ten (10%) admitted that they were too embarrassed to list too many responsibilities. Due to the distance of the workplace from home, 8% refused due to the “gray” salary and lack of sympathy for the management – 7% each, a counter-offer from the current employer due to bad reviews, atmosphere in the team, personal circumstances and receiving – 4% for each.

It turned out that the company did not inspire confidence during the interview for 3%. 2% did not accept the offer due to lack of formal employment, delay in applying for jobs, intuitive rejection and lack of growth prospects. Other reasons were listed at a rate of 9 percent: The necessity of being vaccinated against the coronavirus, not being able to pass the medical examination, compulsory military service and even the condition of the toilets in the office were mentioned.
