Ambulance driver Dmitry Panarin, who pulled a man out of icy water in the Ivanteevsky district of the Saratov region, who was dragged into the river by the current, told Gazeta.ru that he did not see his behavior as heroic. According to him, the relatives of the rescued man thanked him for his help, and here they promised him a reward.
“When I went into the water, I only thought of saving one person. Relatives of the survivors thanked him verbally. At work, the deed was greatly appreciated, they promised a reward. I don’t feel like a hero. “My family is proud of me,” he said.

He noted that the ambulance driver Dmitry Panarin “without hesitation jumped into the icy water and saved the victim.” Kostin explained that the injured man, born in 1946, with general hypothermia, was taken to the intensive care unit of the Ivanteevskaya regional hospital, where he was given the necessary medical care.
“The action of the driver of SMP Panarin Dmitry deserves special attention and will be rewarded from the Republic of Belarus Ivanteevskaya for a heroic act!”
