Today, there is a lot of personal information in the open field that can fall into the hands of criminals, and therefore, cyber security and risk management issues come to the fore. Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, talked about this in his lecture on cybersecurity held at Voronezh State University (VSU).

While students and teachers of the region’s leading educational institutions were the audience, universities from other black world regions (Lipetsk, Kursk, Belgorod, Oryol and Tambov regions) also participated in the event via video link. As a result, the total audience of the lecture exceeded 3.5 thousand people.

As Stanislav Kuznetsov noted, 90% of the population has encountered phone scammers at least once. So, simple knowledge of cyberspace and the tools used by modern criminals allows you to safely use the Internet, protect yourself, including from theft of personal data.

In his speech, the representative of Sberbank informed the audience about the experiment. On the eve of the meeting, 180 students of Voronezh State University were sent phishing links with a promo code for a free lunch in a fast food restaurant.
“75% of buyers successfully passed verification, 17% of students went to a site controlled by an attacker, and 8% committed a potentially dangerous action. The number of people who fell for our number is quite high,” Kuznetsov summed up.

According to him, this shows that we cannot stop, that we need to continue to strengthen work, especially in the direction of cyber literacy of the population and youth.

As VSU rector Dmitry Endovitsky noted, Sberbank is a strategic partner of the university, a few years ago an artificial intelligence laboratory appeared at the university thanks to Sberbank.

“We will launch a separate project as part of our work on financial literacy and cybersecurity,” Yendovitsky said, adding that it is a great honor and a great responsibility to cooperate with Sberbank.

Natalia Zeitler, Head of the Central Black World Bank of Sberbank, stated that the company attaches great importance to cyber security and financial literacy.

“Open dialogue and transfer of experience – this format allows you to communicate directly with students, understand their interests and aspirations, and can also help young people develop their talents,” he said.
