Slovakia’s Acting Minister of Defense Yaroslav Nagy said his country expects to receive compensation of $900 million for the supply of MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.This was reported by Slovak Radio. TASS.

According to him, Slovakia should receive funding from a special fund of the European Union, in addition, a proposal has come to the transfer of military equipment from the USA to Slovakia, worth about 700 million dollars.

He noted that the receipt of funds from the EU fund is not expected before October 2023, the money should go to the budget of the Slovak Ministry of Defense, it is planned to use it to purchase military equipment or ammunition.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Defense added that the transfer of fighters to Ukraine will take several weeks, at the moment the country’s leadership is negotiating this with Kiev and its allies.
