A Dutch resident found a 1,000-year-old treasure with a metal detector, writes good news network.

As 27-year-old Lorenzo Ruyter said, he found the treasure in 2021 but hasn’t told anyone about his discovery all this time. All this time, the man’s find was at the National Museum, where employees examined, cleaned, and identified the items found.

According to experts, the jewelry unearthed by Lorenzo dates back to 1000 AD. They probably belonged to a wealthy family. The man himself was pleased with what he found and had no idea that he might one day touch history.

“I cannot describe it. I never expected to find something like this,” he admits.

The treasure is currently on display and will then be returned to Ruyter.

Earlier, a digger with a metal detector was unexpectedly found roman gold earrings.
