Specialists of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation found a crashed American unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) MQ-9 Reaper in the Black Sea on March 14, the day of the incident. These release reports for post citing a source close to the department who knows the details of what happened.
According to him, the UAV was found at a distance of 60 km. From Sevastopol this was done with the help of an underwater robot. The drone was found at a depth of about 850-900 meters, not far from the deep-water branch of the South Stream gas pipeline.
The interlocutor of the publication emphasized that a Russian warship is currently on duty near the crash site of the MQ-9 Reaper, and that the perimeter of the incident area is protected. The publication states that experts have decided on further action to remove the UAV from the seafloor.
