In 2022, the number of tourist trips with hotel accommodation increased by 8% – traveled throughout the country, 62.5 million people stayed in Russian hotels. These figures were announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, speaking at the international “Tourism and Hospitality Industry” (MITT) fair, held in Moscow from March 16-18.
The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the work of the government to expand and scale successful measures to support the tourism sector, to create conditions for the development of high-quality and affordable tourism products and services for the population.
“Our country has great potential and each region has its own advantages. Despite all the difficulties, the tourism economy is growing.
Emphasizing the need to provide ample opportunities for the travels of Russians and foreign guests, the Minister added that, according to estimates, the flow of domestic tourists is expected to reach 65 million this year.
According to Chernyshenko, the government creates all the necessary conditions for this within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”.
I believe that not only the well-known and traditional tourism centers, but also the regions that have just started to develop the tourism industry should be assisted in a comprehensive way,” he said.
The International Tourism and Hospitality Industry Fair (MITT) has been held in Moscow for over 28 years. The business program includes thematic sessions, training seminars, conferences and presentations.
