Russian pranksters Vovan (Vladimir Kuznetsov) and Lexus (Aleksey Stolyarov) met with Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, on behalf of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and got his opinion on the economic situation in Europe.
In an interview for the new issue of The ViL Show, Christine Lagarde admitted that the European economy is in trouble.
“We have a problem with inflation due to problem areas that we have not been able to improve since the end of the coronavirus pandemic. Prices rose gradually, first only because of the cost of energy, then because of the rise in fertilizer costs, especially food prices, and now almost everywhere. In other words, inflation, which we estimate to be temporary, continues for much longer than expected and is at a much higher level than expected,” the interlocutor of the jokers admitted.
During the meeting, Lagarde expressed her admiration for Elvira Nabiullina, head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, noting that her colleague “quickly understood the situation and raised interest rates sharply” and did an “excellent job”.
Also, Christine Lagarde said the anti-Russian economic sanctions “didn’t bite hard” in Europe as expected.
