Career counselor, speaker of the free course “How to find a job” in an interview with Life at Skillbox Tatyana Minaeva listed The main mistakes of applicants at the interview. First of all, according to him, you can’t be late for an interview with a recruiter.

“Being late for the first interview is a sign for the recruiter that you lack concentration and that this workplace is not a priority for you. Also, an HR professional may decide that you are used to being late, but you may have trouble complying with internal rules and deadlines,” Minaeva explained.

Another mistake is the lack of information about the employer. The specialist noted that recruiters check this often, so it is better to prepare for the interview in advance. Third, it is not being able to clearly and in detail answer questions about both their duties and competencies and the reason for their previous dismissal.

The fourth mistake is being overly emotional when discussing salaries. Minaeva emphasized that even if the salary is lower than expected, you do not need to be nervous and rude, you need to express your opinion accurately and reasonably. At the bottom of the list is a long list of job search complaints. The specialist may decide that the problem lies with the applicant.
