The engineering company “A priori solutions of machines” (resident of “Skolkovo”) has developed a traction motor, which consists entirely of domestic components. It can be used in electric forklifts, small commercial vehicles, electric quad bikes and industrial electric trucks. This was reported to socialbites.ca in the company.
“The main advantage of this engine is that it uses only Russian components. Now we estimate the localization at 95%. But we have developed a model that does not depend at all on Western components in terms of microelectronics and power electronics. Localization of production can reach 100% already in 2024, but only on the market. If he needs it, we still have the opportunity to buy Chinese components, I mean microchips. So far this method is cheaper, Grigory Bolotin, head of the Council of the Machine-Building Cluster Council of the Chuvash Republic, which includes AWP, so far this method is cheaper.
The traction electric drive is based on a valve reluctance motor, which is considered one of the most reliable and affordable motors.
According to Bolotin, it is also important that the motor does not have permanent magnets, which are often purchased from abroad, especially in China. This allows you to reduce the engine production cost and not be dependent on other countries. The device is also easy to repair and does not take much time to assemble.
The prototype was successfully tested. According to the developers, six electric motors of this type went into production. They will be produced in Kaluga as part of the equipment after operational tests. Sea trials of the electric propulsion using the new development are scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
