according to the newspaper “News”, On March 14, the State Duma of the Russian Federation may, at first reading, adopt a bill of senators and deputies invited to increase penalties for selling over-the-counter drugs from United Russia. So, according to the text of the legislative novel, fines for pharmacists and officials will range from 10 thousand to 20 thousand rubles (or disqualification from six months to a year), for individual entrepreneurs (IP) from 50 thousand to 50 thousand rubles. 100 thousand rubles for legal entities – from 150 thousand to 200 thousand rubles.

Positive views on the draft law were given by two expert committees on health care and state building and legislation. They recommended that the lower house of parliament adopt the new norms at first reading.

The explanatory note of the new norm states that since 2010 in Russia there has been a more than 2.5-fold increase in the number of people addicted to drugs with psychoactive effects.
