The Hague police detain around 700 environmental activists who blocked the A12 highway Dutch Broadcasting Corporation (NOS).
March 11 Extinction Rebellion activists went out to protest against government subsidies for mining.
They closed the A12, one of the main highways in The Hague. Police used water cannon to disperse the protesters.
According to NOS, police repeatedly urged protesters to disperse and then began dispersing activists to clear the highway that was closed.
As a result, law enforcement detained about 700 activists.
Environmental activists of the Last Generation movement, previously in Berlin cut a tree German Chancellor Olaf Scholz protested in front of the Federal Office against deforestation.
