WWF vows to challenge inclusion on the list of foreign agents through the courts

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) plans to request a court review of the decision of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on its inclusion in the list of foreign agents. This has been reported organization website.

“We find the decision to include the fund in the nonprofit-foreign agents register unreasonable and will ask for it to be reviewed in court. By fulfilling its obligations, the World Wide Fund for Nature will continue to protect rare animal species and protect Russia’s nature. The mission of the foundation is to preserve biodiversity in harmony between man and nature,” says the publication.

Formerly the Ministry of Justice of Russia announced The decision to include the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in the list of individuals-foreign agents.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the World Wide Fund for Nature received funding from foreign sources and hindered industrial development under the guise of protecting nature, the environment and the biodiversity of species.

The ministry added that the fund sheds a negative light on the decisions and policies taken by state institutions.
