69% of Russians remember their first job warmly, and a quarter describe it as a painful experience. This was demonstrated by a survey conducted between the Zarplaty.ru research center and the Skypro online university, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
According to the research, the difficulties of the first job for participants are not only associated with complex tasks, but also with wages. Survey respondents without work experience note that their initial salary is up to 10,000 rubles (69%), with almost a fifth (18%) receiving between 10,000 and 20,000 rubles. Only 5% earned more than 40,000 rubles. The top three popular first jobs were: sales manager (15%), organizer (14%), and mechanic (12%).
Talking about the fears and problems they experienced in their first job, Russians felt a lack of experience (35%), did not understand their own importance in the company, and were busy with boring and routine work (30%). They also did not receive clearly formulated mandates from management (13%). At the same time, one out of three people feared not finding a common language with their colleagues and not getting a salary (28%).
More than a third (39%) of respondents stayed at their first job for one year or more. Another 30% left their first company after two to three months. And 28% held a position at their first job for three months to a year.
Interestingly, the majority of respondents (30%) found their first job at the age of 18-20. Another 16% found a job at the age of 15-16, and an equal proportion of 14% of Russians found a job at the age of 16-17 and 20-25.
