The trial of Russians and Belarusians accused of “espionage” began in Bialystok, Poland, the agency reported. Podlaskie24.

Polish journalists state that the hearings were held behind closed doors. The investigation is being conducted by the military affairs department of the district prosecutor’s office in Warsaw. The charge was brought by the Polish Counterintelligence Service.

According to the prosecution, the detainees were spying for Russia from 2017 to April 2022. They want up to 10 years in prison. The defendants allegedly gathered information about Polish military units, their deployments, equipment and personnel, and NATO units in northeastern Poland.

Prior to his arrest, a Belarusian citizen was working for an organization involved in skydiving. He worked in the Russian tourism business.
