On March 7, the Georgian Parliament unanimously passed the bill “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” at first reading, which provides for the establishment of a register of externally funded non-governmental organizations and the media. Rallies for the bill have been held in the Georgian capital since last week, on the eve of the country’s parliament several hundred people gathered to disperse the rally, special forces fired tear gas and water cannon.
