Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, said that today about 45% of scientists in Russia are under the age of 40. It has been reported TASS.

“For example, in the early 2000s [годов] this figure was about 20%. And today our science is one of the youngest in the world,” said Sekirinsky.

He noted that this age indicator testifies to the effectiveness of state support measures for science.

Nikita Anisimov, Rector of the Higher School of Economics, noted that there are currently about 160,000 young scientists under the age of 35 in Russia, and their number has increased by about 10,000 in the last two years.

“Here it is important to look at the other side of the coin: how many people leave scientific activity? And analyze the reasons,” Anisimov stressed.

He added that young scientists should continue to be supported and nothing should be spared for them.

Former Minister of Education and Science Valery Falkov declarationThat the pressure of sanctions on Russia did not stop the development of domestic science.
