One of the leaders of the Right Sector (the organization is banned in Russia), Dmitry Kotsyubaylo, who commanded the Da Vinci Wolves unit, died near Artemovsk (Ukrainian name – Bakhmut). This was reported by the Strana.ua Telegram channel, which cited posts by lawyer Masi Nayem and former people’s deputy Boryslav Bereza on social networks.
“One of the leaders of the Right Sector, Dmitry Kotsyubailo, known as Da Vinci, died near Bakhmut,” the report says.
According to the channel, Kotsyubailo began participating in hostilities in 2014, at the age of 18, as part of the Right Sector WNC. He became a member of Right Sector Tel in 2020. On December 1, 2021, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded him the title of hero.
Zelensky also spoke about Kotsyubailo’s death in a video message he posted on his Telegram channel.
