Israeli students discover a painting of a lioness with a 2000-year-old cub

An ancient stone image of a lioness feeding her cubs has been discovered in Israel. In this respect informs haaretz.

The item spent nearly two thousand years in the soil and was significantly damaged by the chemical elements it contained. Many details are therefore lost, but the overall meaning can be discerned. In particular, the nipples on which the lion cub bends can be seen.

The image carved on basalt was found near the city of Ein Nashut by local students during a three-day trek through Israel’s ancient northern villages.

“Every day we visit several old villages, see the ruins and examine the features that characterize the Jewish village and distinguish it from the Christian villages of that time,” says teacher Mordechai Aviam. – HE [львица] He was lying at the foot of the hill below the synagogue.
