According to a new study by researchers at Brigham Young University in Jerusalem, published High body self-esteem is associated with greater sexual compatibility among romantic couples, reports the Journal of Sex Research. He plays a role, both for his own sexual well-being and for his partner.

“It’s hard to give an exact figure, but some studies show that up to 97% of women may be dissatisfied with some aspect of their body, which is becoming more common for men as well. If you are in a sexual relationship and your attention is focused on how your body looks and not on how you feel, then the satisfaction you get from sex will decrease,” the scientists explained.

The researchers analyzed data from a national sample of 2,177 newlywed couples. Researchers analyzed participants’ responses to questions about their self-esteem, their own sexual satisfaction, and their partner.

The authors found that higher body self-esteem was associated with greater sexual adjustment in a couple. This had a positive effect on relationship satisfaction. Low self-esteem, by contrast, was associated with greater sexual depression.
